I will try Lars.. Running meetings is kinda like an art.. Inside the school that I go to at the moment the head of school implemented a one hour meeting policy. No meetings should be more than one hour. An example that one of my lectures gave was that we the head of school attended a meeting and the meeting when over time. The head of school stood up and left the room, and said "I don't have more time". So he lead by example..

Others often say that 30 mins should be the longest a meeting should be held.

Another strategy is to hold meetings while standing up. That kinda gets people talking since people in general do not like to stand for a long time. I have never tried it but the concept is kinda good.

Yeah - my former boss had a max 30 min policy in his previous company.
